Twee Scottish indie music

It occurred to me that the title of this blog - and the title of my last post - are a bit on the cryptic side unless you like chirpy British indie music. For those non-fans out there, The Life Pursuit is the name of a Belle and Sebastian album, and Another Sunny Day is the song I was listening to on my generic-non-ipod MP3 player when I decided to start writing this.

It seemed oddly appropriate - I've been giving a lot of thought to what my goals and priorities are recently, and while I have no intention of going into the details, the bottom line is this:

Life is really not that long - or very predictable.

It's too easy to focus on the big stuff, and not absorb enough of what's actually going on. My life in London is a big haze of nights out, mornings spent sleeping too much, and epic amounts of work. The new plan is to slow down, give myself some time to take things in, and make the most of the small things.

Which isn't going to be particularly easy when I'm busy working out how to reduce the contents of my life to two suitcases, sorting flights, visas, etc, and fitting in multiple hen weekends and weddings before I head off. But I shall try - and teaching myself to run (hence the non-ipod) is a part of that.

As is The List - but more on that another time.
